Most Comprehensive Home Energy Audits Include: Inspection of Furnace + Ducts • Insulation Inspection • Duct Test • Blower Door Test • Thermal Imaging
A Comprehensive Home Energy Audit (CHEA) will identify where your home is losing energy and money - and how such problems can be corrected to make your home more energy efficient. When you schedule a CHEA, we'll need approximately 1.5 hours to perform testing services. We'll do a detailed inspection of your home, collecting data with our fan devices, and measuring walls and windows to build a simulation of your home. Thermal images will be taken so that we can identify leak prone areas, or gaps in insulation. We do this while the blower door has the house under negative pressure, to exaggerate the leak, making it more visible. This data will help us build a simulation to better understand what the best steps are to cut your energy costs and save you money. As a part of a CHEA, we also put together a list of recommended improvements with an estimated cost, as well as Return On Investment (ROI) information. We'll show you three possible Retrofit Packages, with levels of efficiency / price: Good, Better & Best!
ENERGY SAVING TIP
Did you Know?
LEDs are the coolest. Though the upfront cost is higher, they use around 80% less energy, stay cool to the touch, and may enjoy a life of over 20 years! LEDs also contain no mercury, and have a much smaller environmental impact than incandescent bulbs. We suggest transitioning as old bulbs burn out.
